So You Want to Make an Oral History: A Conversation and Workshop with Myrl Beam and Amy Sullivan

Tuesday, November 15th
12-1 pm, DRC (Library, Lower Level)

Curious about making an oral history project? Have a project idea but don’t know where to start? Want to interview someone and need to learn how? In this session, Macalester faculty members Amy Sullivan and Myrl Beam discussed their work as oral historians of the opioid epidemic, trans life, and more. The conversation covered best practices and ethical considerations when creating oral histories, along with a short demo of technology you can use for interviewing. The workshop was intended for anyone who wanted to learn more about the process of documenting oral histories.
