From the “Introduction” section of the website:
A field guide lets us be curious about the world. The form allows readers to be explorers in their own backyards. It is a medium built around direct inspection and inquiry. It presumes that how we know is just as important as the knowledge itself. More than that, the knowledge is only possible through collaboration—through reaching out of our own experience with others. For that reason, we worked together to create The Field Guide to Public Space, drawing on our experiences in and contacts with people in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The featured image appears in the “COVID-19 and the end of public space” section of the website, authored by Dan Trudeau and Elliot Wareham.

During the Summer of 2021, Dan Trudeau, Becca Gallandt ’22, Amanda Lovelee, and Emily Dam also created “Learning from Lake Phalen,” which is now also a part of the Field Guide.
