Nature Study (White Eyes)
Subject
nature; nature study; eyes; white
Description
This sculpture is made out of marble and rests on a black square steel base. On top of the base is a roughly rectangular (3D) black piece of marble gently slopes downward from one corner to the diagonal corner. On top of the black marble rest two spherical pieces of white marble, fit neatly into grooves in the black marble to accomodate their spherical shape. The two white spheres are carved to have a recessed rectangle in their side, with holes bored into them (one hole in each ball). The effect is of two eyes looking haphazardly upward.
