Description
This installation is an immersive experience that asks attendees to reflect on memory and its connections with self and Blackness. In the middle of the room sits a table and a chair with a quotation from bell hooks.
Much of the space is empty except for a few installations. Two dark panels are against the wall in front of the table. One reads "[you must remember - even if remembering is a non-space, more like a feeling than an image]". A stack of books is held against another wall. The selected works discuss art theory and African-American studies/theory. An open book sits on a table with a pen. The first page states "I am holding space for change".
