Site-specific Performance Design Community Archive

In the Spring Semester of 2023, I will be teaching a course on site-specific performance design as part of the Mellon Foundation’s Humanities for All Times (MHAT) Initiative. This humanities and arts program aims to advance engagements with Black and Indigenous studies via the digital liberal arts, immersive learning opportunities, community organizing and environmental justice. At the center of my course is a reciprocative learning experience that will connect Macalester students with theater artists from the Minnesota-based New Native Theater and other local Indigenous artists. As part of this commitment to reciprocative learning, I would like to create a community-accessible archive of the course that will include video and sound resources. It is important to create an open-access resource that is not just for Macalester students but that is available to the broader community, especially the Indigenous artists and communities who share their resources with Macalester.
