Anti-racist pedagogy and scholarship on race and racism
The global uprising against anti-Blackness, racism, and white supremacy following the Minneapolis police murder of George Floyd not 10 miles from Macalester requires (once again) that colleges and universities, including Macalester, reckon with our past, be honest about our present, and offer more than words and promises for our future. This is a critical opportunity to engage in anti-racist pedagogy, understand the ways in which white supremacy operates both within and beyond higher education, and engage with the extensive scholarship on race and racism (including, but of course not limited to, the fine work of some of our Macalester colleagues). In addition to the resources on this page, please also consult the equity and inclusivity page on the Responsive Teaching and Learning website.
